In this Cara Mía Theatre Co. holiday classic, Sandra Cisneros' stories are woven together from the childhood memories of Chayo, a woman originally from South Texas living in a new city. Characters from her family and old neighborhood are brought to life as they offer prayers and pin milagritos to a statue of La Virgen de Guadalupe. By remembering her family, especially the women who came before her, Chayo discovers what La Virgen de Guadalupe signifies to her in this new stage of her life.
