FALL OPEN HOUSE & OPENING OF PHOTOGRAPY EXHIBIT
CAPITOL HILL ARTS WORKSHOP (CHAW) KICKS OFF FALL 2007
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) will offer an Open House on Saturday, September 8, 2007, 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, to showcase its Fall 2007 Classes. For Fall 2007, CHAW will offer over 70 classes for children and adults featuring a multi-disciplinary range of topics including: Afro-Brazilian dancing, ceramics, darkroom techniques, life drawing, Pilates, yoga, and printmaking. During the Open House, there will be sample classes for yoga (11am to Noon) and paper making (11am to 1pm) and the staff will offer tours of the building. CHAW is located at 545 7th Street SE, a short distance from Eastern Market metro.
September 8th also marks the opening of the Photography Exhibit juried by local photographer and teacher, Bruce McKaig, Chair of CHAW’s Photography Department. The majority of entries came from all over the metropolitan area, with about thirty selected for the Exhibit, which runs through September 29th. A reception from 5-7 PM will open the Exhibit as well as welcome Jody Barasch, Jenny Chowning, and Jill Strachan to their new positions at CHAW. Barasch is Director of Operations, Chowning is Director of Education and Programs, and Strachan is Executive Director.
The Open House, Photography Exhibit Opening, and the Reception are open to the public and admission is free.
Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) is a non-profit multi-disciplinary arts education facility, located on the corner of 7th and G Streets, SE (just two blocks south of Eastern Market).
