This exhibition presents portraits that reside in private Washington, D.C. collections. Many of the works have never been on public display. Works included are by major artists such as John Singleton Copley, Mary Cassatt, Andy Warhol and Kehinde Wiley. Featuring aesthetically superior images from 1750 to the present, this exhibition demonstrates how portraiture is ingrained in the private sphere of people's lives and offers an insiders peek to the public.
