Beautifully shot and emotionally-charged story of a
ten year old boy whose childhood is caught between
political allegiance and personal freedom. Set in the
iced-peaked Andean mountains of Peru, Paper Dove
is a deeply moving humanistic film based on a true
story. After discovering that his father has been killed
by the guerrilla movement Shining Path, Juan is
kidnapped by the group and taken to their hideout
where he is initiated into their ideology and guerrilla
warfare. After an encounter with the military, he is
commanded to execute the captured enemy leader
to prove his loyalty to the movement..
