Come, praise the days!; Part II- And there were in the same country shepherds; and Part III- Ruler of heaven, hear our murmurings.
Now in its eighth season, Cantatas in Context showcases some of Johann Sebastian Bachs 200 rarely-performed sacred vocal works. Led by conductor Mary Dalton Greer, a Bach specialist, the Orchestra of St. Lukes is joined by special guests from the New York Baroque Soloists: soprano Ilana Davidson, mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Shammash, tenors William Ferguson and Scott Murphree, and baritone Christ
