Doggie U K9 Academy will be hosting a Canine Conditioning Seminar with renowned certified rehabilitation therapist (CCRT) Petra Ford on Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 9am to 4pm. The day long seminar will be held at Doggie U (41 Saxon Avenue, Bay Shore, NY 11702 [631] 968-7972) and has working spots available for participation for Members of Doggie U and Non-Members.
Whether a dog is in agility, free style, flyball, Frisbee or conformation – Petra’s workshop will teach dog owners how to keep their dogs in top physical condition, help prevent injury and improve their performance. Dog competition in any venue can present a chance of injury to a dog. Petra will help teach participants the following: structure and function to identify potential areas of weakness in the dog; importance of a proper warm up and cool down; stretching for injury prevention and early identification of injuries; components of a conditioning program; and how to develop a personalized conditioning program specifically targeting your dogs needs.
To participate with your dog in the seminar, the cost is $135 for a ‘working spot’ for Non-Members, $125 for Members of Doggie U. To attend the seminar without your dog and participate (you will be set up with a working dog team) the cost is $85 for Non-Members and $75 for Members of Doggie U.
