What is Candlelight?
Candlelight, an old-fashioned holiday celebration, will focus its museum programming on area school students, senior citizens and the general public. Entertainment and holiday finery throughout the village will include:
Carriage rides pulled by Nip and Tuck, our Mammoth Jack donkeys, and hay wagon rides pulled by horses along candlelit paths
A photo with St. Nicholas at the Bandstand
Novel wood carvers, potter, storytelling, hand-weaving, blacksmithing
Delicious holiday menu in the Chautauqua Pavilion by G-Texas Catering
Local dancers, choirs and other entertainers on Main Street and in the Renner School
Exhibit and demonstration of a privately-owned collection of vintage gramophones, Victrolas, recordings from the late 1800s, and more by the collection’s curator, Rick Wilkins
Luscious homemade bake sale with treats made by The Guild of Dallas Heritage Village
Interpreters in traditional costumes throughout the museum bringing history to life
Gleeful strolling carolers throughout the Village and inside the historic buildings
Historic buildings dressed in traditional holiday decorations
Traditional holiday activities and period games for the kids of all ages
Where will Candlelight be?
Dallas Heritage Village, 1515 South Harwood, one block south of Farmers Market. On-site parking available for sponsors and VIP guests. Valet parking available December 13 and 14; paid self-parking at the Village; and free parking at Farmers Market.
What are the ticket prices?
School Days: $5 each
Senior Citizens Days: $5 each; $12 with lunch
Traditional Candlelight: $10 adults, $8 senior (65+), $6 children (4-12), free for children under 4; discounted tickets available at www.DallasHeritageVillage.org
