Breitz's complete series presents interviews with six sets of identical twins and one set of identical triplets. The works on view at the Wex are Factum Kang, Factum Misericordia, and Factum Tremblay (all 2009), each titled from the surnames of its subjects. The projects capture three sets of twins at three stages of life: as young adults, in youthful middle age, and as elders. Breitz chose to work with subjects who had spent their formative years together in order to draw on their shared experiences and memories in constructing the narratives. In these intimate portraits, we are given glimpses of the growing pains and moments of peace that make each of us who we are.
