Canadian Studies in the United States: Workshop on Career and Professional Development Opportunities for Doctoral Candidates October 30, 2008

The workshop, exclusively for doctoral candidates, department chairs, graduate student advisers, doctoral thesis advisers and Directors/Deans of international and area studies programs, will feature a rich variety of professional development opportunities available to doctoral candidates interested in the study of Canada.

Topics for examination include:
 A comprehensive overview of Canadian Studies programs and scholarly associations throughout the United States higher education community.
 A profile of Canada-focused funding resources to assist the development of teaching, research, publications and exchange programs.
 Professional development opportunities — publishing, conferences and exchanges — available to doctoral candidates.
 A wealth of Canadian Studies networking resource contacts in academic and government circles in the United States.
