Bedouin Soundclash
Hailing from Kingston, ON, Bedouin Soundclash's music can be described as a mixture of reggae, ska, soul, and rock. The three-man band, who met while attending Queen's University, are best known for their 2005 hit single "When The Night Feels My Song," from their sophomore album, Sounding A Mosaic. They have since released a third album, Street Records, in the summer of 2007.
Protest the Hero
The band from Whitby, ON recently released their second full-length album, Fortress, in January of 2008. Though they are hesitant to categorize their genre, Protest the Hero can be described as punk with elements of pop and metal. They have won numerous awards for independent and alternative music in Canada.
The Saint Alvia Cartel
The Saint Alvia Cartel, comprised of members who have attained previous success with other bands, is a Juno-nominated punk-rock powerhouse that incorporates numerous other genres in their music. Named for Ernest Alvia 'Smokey' Smith, the last living recipient of the Victoria Cross from the Second World War, the band originated in Burlington, ON.
