On December 7, 2011, President Obama and Prime Minister Harper announced a new approach for managing the U.S.-Canada border. The Beyond the Border agreement transforms how the two countries conduct trade and cooperate on security. As a leading logistics center, Chicago stands to be at the forefront of the growing trade between the United States and Canada as well as their connections to supply chains that span the globe.
