In this hands-on course, published authors (and would-be authors!) will learn the basics of turning their print books into audio books. Answer the big questions, like “Should I read my own book aloud, or hire a professional?” and “How much does an audio book cost to produce?” Instructor Christine Mahoney will give you tips and shortcuts, learned from personal experience. Learn how to avoid common mistakes (or at least catch them before your audio book gets duplicated!) and what to expect throughout the entire production process.
What You Will learn:
You’ll learn about the 3 phases of audio book production and the top 3 quality control checkpoints. At the end of the evening, you’ll be able to determine if your audio book can be a DIY project, or if you’ll need to hire a producer.
Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for published authors, soon-to-be published authors or would-be authors with great book ideas.
Additional Requirements:
Authors, please bring your books. If your book hasn’t been published yet, or is in the process of being written, please bring a section that can be read aloud. If you’re a would-be author still in the “idea phase” of your book, bring whatever you can share. We’ll share content in a fun, friendly environment that offers encouragement and constructive critique.
