“Campus Rock Idols” India’s biggest inter-college music competition for rock bands, held annually, is now in its fifth year of running. It is the only platform for amateur bands at the college level to showcase themselves on a nationwide basis. The competition begins at the city level where college bands within the city and neighboring cities compete. The winner takes on winners from other cities to decide the regional winner; the best regional bands compete at the national level where the winner will be crowned as “Campus Rock Idols”. Significant highlights of this contest is that campus bands get to perform on a great stage with sounds and lights confirming to international standards. These bands are also showcased on VH1. According to their progress in the competition they get to travel the country and showcase their talents in other cities. The winners and runners up get cash prizes, Gibson guitars and most importantly a chance to open to a concert featuring an international rock artist when performing in India. This concept and event “Campus Rock Idols” has been developed by DNA Networks Pvt. Ltd., India’s pioneering event company that promotes and produces mea international concerts of artists such as Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Sting, Roger Waters, Mark Knopfler, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith and Shakira amongst others.
