The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) hosts “Give It a Go: Party on the Plaza” on Thursday, Oct. 1, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. at Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second Street, south entrance.
Everyone is invited to join the Mayor, Council Members and CAMPO as they wrap-up and celebrate Commute Solutions Month, and recognize citizen commuters and business partners who participated in “Give It a Go” — a CAMPO campaign designed to create awareness of the benefits of making transportation choices that reduce single-occupancy vehicle travel.
CAMPO will announce Commuter Challenge winners from among the Central Texans who tracked their commutes to work and school online September 7-19 to qualify for awards. Prizes include a mini laptop, an electric foldable bicycle, a solar backpack and iPods. This free event is also an chance for Central Texans to meet others who care about greener commuting to share ideas and insights.

• Austin’s Weirdest Commute Contest (held Sept. 18) participants will display their creative and green means of transportation
• ME Television host Paul Saucido will emcee the event
• Mellow Johnny’s will feature a bike petting zoo
• Media partners at the event: KGSR and Univision

• Food provided by Heavily Mexicated
• This event was scheduled for Sept. 24 but was moved because of rain.
