Campo Bravo is the musical vehicle of enigmatic songster Mark Matos, the first American born in a lineage of Portuguese peasants from the Azores islands. Hailing from Californias musically fertile Central Valley (Grandaddy, Pavement), spending eight years wandering in some of the Northern Hemispheres more interesting outposts (penniless and with an unhealthy Jack Kerouac fixation), Mark now resides in the blistering confines of Tucson, AZ. The bands rotating configuration draws from a pool of sought-after musicians including the Lady Vickie Brown on violin, Brian Green on bass, trap master W.M. Royce and multi-faceted instrumentalist Lazy Horse (of Bill Nye The Science Guy). The music unravels the traditions of folk, americana, and reckless rock n roll to expose Matos deconstructed American roots.
