Camp Adventure, a program offered by Deaf Independent Living Association, Inc. (DILA), is holding its third overnight camping season. This year will be an exciting four day, three night weekend to share experiences, make new friends and reunite with old ones on August 19 through August 22, 2009. The camp will be held at Camp Pecometh in Centreville, MD. Registration is open for children who are deaf or hard of hearing, siblings or children of deaf or hard of hearing family members. The campers will be divided into two age groupings, 5-12 and 13-17. Each group will have age appropriate individual group activities as well as combined group activities. Some of the activities included are the ever popular campfire and storytelling time, hiking, swimming, games, canoeing and a rope course for the older campers as well as many other wonderful fun things to do. The cost is $155 per camper ages 5-12 and $165 per camper ages 13-17. Registration is on a “First Come, First Served” basis with a June 30, 2010 deadline; after this date add $15.
