Caltech's 4th Annual Latin Jazz Concert February 9, 2013

The Caltech Jazz Bands, directed by William Bing, will present their 4th annual Latin Jazz Concert featuring the Poncho Sanchez Band and vocalist Candi Sosa. This event will take place on Saturday, February 9th, 2013 at 8 PM at Caltech's Beckman Auditorium. Admission fees are $5 for students and seniors, and $10 for general admission. Parking is free near the auditorium. Early arrival is recommended as we expect a full house. Doors open at 7:30 pm.
Poncho Sanchez has recorded over 19 albums, and won a Grammy in 2000 for best Latin Jazz Album. He has recorded with Cal Tjader, Mongo Santamaria, Hugh Masekela, and Tower of Power.
Candi Sosa is one of the most respected singers in the world of music. She sings with tremendous passion and once you have heard her sing, you will know why she is known the world over for her ability to connect with her audiences.
Also on the program will be two of the finest latin jazz percussionists in the world, Robertito Melendez and Ricardo "Tiki" Pasillas. They have performed with Marc Anthony, Carlos Santana, Michael Jackson, Celia Cruz and many others.
