Highly popular with the children, CALM Adventurers for 6-9 year-olds is back the second Saturday of each month beginning Feb. 13. CALM Adventurers, developed specifically for children, gives them the chance to meet animals up close, study plants that make California so special and sometimes go where ordinary visitors don't. CALM Adventurers takes place from 10 am-noon on Feb. 13, March 13, April 10 and May 8. Cost is $10 for member children and $15 for non-members. Parents and other siblings are able to visit the zoo, at regular admission prices, while class is in session. Class size is limited. Please call Debby Kroeger, educational specialist, at (661) 872-2256, ext. 12, to make prepaid reservations. CALM is located at 10500 Alfred Highway between Lake Ming and Hart Park in northeast Bakersfield.
