November 7 - 13, at United HomeCare’s Caregiver Resource Center
United HomeCare, one of South Florida’s largest home health agencies, has an annual traditional of providing Thanksgiving baskets for some of its neediest clients. The nonprofit agency cares for 4,500 elderly and disabled adults across Miami-Dade County. This year United HomeCare has committed to making 300 baskets, the most ever, and needs helping hands from the community to assemble them.
Individuals and groups are invited to spend two hours or more of their time assembling Thanksgiving baskets at UHC’s Caregiver Resource Center in Doral. Baskets will include non-perishable holiday food staples along with a Publix gift card to purchase such perishables as a turkey or chicken. Food donations are not required, just willing hands looking to partake in the Thanksgiving spirit. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to participate.
