Each fall, the California Student Association of Family Practice (CSAFP) offers an educational conference and residency fair for fellow medical students. Planned by and for medical students interested in family medicine, this year’s conference will include:
• A panel of family physicians on the challenges and rewards of being an FP;
• Tips on how to apply to a family medicine residency;
• Opportunities for hands-on procedural experience;
• Free breakfast and lunch; and
• A residency fair with California family medicine residencies
Registration
CAFP members: Free!
Non-members: $15, including CAFP/AAFP membership
Pre-registration deadline: August 31, 2006

8:45 a.m. Arrive and check-in
9:00-9:30 a.m. Breakfast with keynote speaker Dr. Greaves, CAFP President
9:30-10:15 a.m.:
· Applying to residency: learn the importance of interview skills
· IMG application/interview skills with Dr. Jafri
10:15-10:30 a.m. Break
10:30-11:30 a.m.:
· Suturing workshop
· Joint injection workshop
11:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Lunch and raffle for pre-registrants
12:30-1:45 p.m. Family Medicine Panel: Connecting the Pieces in Health Care, the Importance of Family Medicine
1:45-2:00 pm. Break
2:00-3:00 p.m. Interactive case-based session on contraception with Dr. Norma Jo Waxman
3:00-5:30 p.m. California Residency Fair
