Calgary Housing Action Initiative August 15, 2006

A formative meeting to strategize collective actions to address the crisis in housing in Calgary.

* Critical shortage of low-income housing - burgeoning homelessness.
* Numerous violations and abuses by landlords.
* Horrendous rent increases forcing people out of their homes.
* Inadequate legal protections under the law for tenants.
* Etc.

Let's make connections with the various people and communities affected by these issues and formulate some actions to try to change the situation.
