This is a meeting for individuals and organizations interested in using or developing web-technologies to support and advance democracy in our communities.
We’ll be talking about web-based tools for advancing democracy and public access to information about what governments and elected representatives are doing.
We’ll be discussing plans and opportunities for the Calgary Democracy website and other projects that folks have going on.
• Getting voting records of elected representatives available in easy to navigate and process formats.
• Tracking proposed legislation and policies.
• Tracking other activities of governments and elected representatives.
• Building democratic dialogue and engagement in our communities.
• Increasing public input into policies and legislation.
Please bring your ideas and information about any relevant existing projects.
And, please invite others you think would have something to contribute to these efforts, or would otherwise be interested.
