Inspired by visual artist Alexander Calder, the Calder Quartet challenges the conventions of chamber music with insightful pairings of traditional and contemporary. The program includes Janáček’s Quartet No. 2 (“Intimate Letters”), an expression of the composer’s impassioned correspondence with his “immortal beloved;” Stravinsky’s “Three Pieces” and Schubert’s Quartet in G Major.
There will be a Talk Back with the artists following the performance.
