The Calder Quartet offers a unique array of projects by performing traditional quartet repertoire as well as partnering with innovative modern composers, emerging musicians, and performers across genres. The Calder Quartet toured across North America with Andrew W.K. this past year and have been featured on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel.
Awarded the 2009 ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award in recognition of its exciting programming and collaborations, the Calder Quartet is redefining what a classical ensemble can be. Strings magazine said “Those that call classical music boring or archaic clearly do not follow ensembles like the Calder Quartet.” The Los Angeles Times called them “The American string quartet to watch.” This event is sponsored by the Friends of Chamber Music and will take place in the Collins Gallery.
Space at library programs is limited. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
