The Cal Ripken World Series is the premier International Amateur Baseball Championship Tournament for the Babe Ruth League’s 12 and under division. From August 10 – 19, 2012, 16 teams will compete in this Tournament at the Ripken Experience in Aberdeen, MD. There are 6 international teams from Australia, Canada, Korea, Dominican Republic, Japan and Mexico. There are 10 domestic teams that compete, one is the Maryland State Champ and the host team is from Harford County.
This is one of the biggest events in Harford County, bringing families from all over the world to Harford County! The Cal Ripken World Series is nationally televised and is a showcase for our County – it is the one nationally, televised event in Harford County.
There are many new, exciting things this year for the Cal Ripken World Series. The events are listed below:
August 10 – Opening Ceremonies; Skills Competition; Host Team will play Friday night
August 11 – Parade downtown in Aberdeen; Parade starts at 11am
August 14 through 19 – Carnival comes to town; there will be some cost to the Carnival, but it will be a lot of fun
August 18 and 19 – Championship Weekend; Come out and support Harford County for Championship Weekend
