Roxbury, MA. – As part of Boston’s Jazz Week, enjoy the sounds of Ralph Peterson’s Spectrum Trio on Thursday May 5, 2011 at Roxbury Center for Arts inside Hibernian Hall. Dynamic drummer Ralph Peterson brings his Spectrum Trio to Café Tatant, an upscale venue for jazz, rhythm-and-blues in the heart of Roxbury. Peterson teaches on the faculty of Berklee College of Music. In the spirit of giving back he has instituted the Blackstone Education Foundation, dedicated to jazz--America’s musical art form.

About Ralph Peterson
Master drummer, respected composer – bandleader and talent scout extraordinaire Ralph Peterson has carried on in the tradition of his mentor and idol Art Blakey, who was renowned for his hard-driving approach to the kit and uncanny knack for discovering new talent. Peterson helped launch the careers of several promising young players in his various bands over the years, including trumpeters Sean Jones and Jeremy Pelt. Over the years, Peterson has created 15 albums and started the Onyx Music Label. He is a respected educator who is currently a full professor at the Berklee College of Music.
