Cabin Fever? Come on out to the Greensboro Church’s Cabin Fever Follies this Saturday, February 13 for a variety show featuring all the best (and all the rest) of our local talent. Potluck starts at 6 p.m. in the GUCC Fellowship Hall (bring your favorite dish to share), and the show starts at 7 p.m. Highlights include the twangy notes of the Woodbury Bluegrass Highlanders Bluegrass/Gospel mix, alongside the soothing call of Cody Michaels piano, which he’ll be playing from his newly released CD Winter Suite. Alex Smith and Ely Alexander are back with another one of their original and highly popular skits. We’ll also be graced with some Scottish Fiddle, plus the usual and a little of the unusual! This year we’re doing things a little differently than in the past: we’ll have our potluck as usual in Fellowship hall, but performances will be held in the Sanctuary. Not only will we benefit from better acoustics, but we can enjoy our new Mason & Hamlin Baby Grand Piano! This is a family event, open to kids and adults of all ages. There is a suggested donation of $8 for admission. All proceeds will benefit summer camperships for kids at Greensboro Wonder and Wisdom and other programs. The Follies are a highlight of our Greensboro winters. Be sure to come. Call the Greensboro United Church of Christ at 533-2223 for more information.
