Cabaret Night is coming April 19, 2013 to benefit Greater Pittsburgh Unitarian Universalists as they prepare to participate in PrideFest 2013. The theme of Cabaret Night is “BELIEVE: Beauty of Every Love, Isn’t Every Voice Equal. PrideFest, according to the Post-Gazette, “is the city's premier festival to recognize and celebrate the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.”
The event is being supported by the Unitarian Universalist Churches in Pittsburgh and is being held to raise funds to support the participation of the UU churches in the area at the Pittsburgh Pride March this year.
The evening’s celebration will feature songs sung by same sex duets and written by some of your favorite gay composers. David Green, of First Unitarian Church of Pittsburgh, has chosen the musical arrangements and is directing the performances. The show will also feature an art gallery, providing a setting for these songs. The songs will highlight love in many seasons of our life: first date, honeymoon, married and settled, heartbreak and divorce.
Cabaret Night will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the North Hills, 2359 W. Ingomar Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237, at 8 p.m., April 19, 2013. Tickets are $20 per person. For more information, call 412-366-0244.
