CAA & Trees Ontario Community Planting Weekend - Owen Sound May 7, 2011

Come out and join us for TREE PLANTING!!

Hosted by CAA South Central Ontario & Trees Ontario, this Annual Community Planting Weekend is designed to bring CAA members, along with their families, friends, and members of the general public together, to take part in a 1/2 day tree planting activity, promoting community engagement and environmental action. The event aims to engage communities in local reforestation projects, and build profile around the importance of trees, shade and green urban spaces. The event will take place in a public space needing to be re-greened, and participants will have the opportunity to be involved in a very meaningful project that will have enormous environmental benefits for various communities throughout Ontario.

Participant Information:

Event is rain or shine. To participate in this unique event, all you need to bring is a shovel, gardening gloves and lots of energy! CAA South Central Ontario & Trees Ontario will supply the rest - the trees, forestry specialists, mulch and snacks. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes (steel toe if possible), and bring a hat and/or sunscreen.

Parking will be available.

This event is open to the public, however space is limited and pre-registration is appreciated.
