This high-spirited musical tells the story of 1950’s rock and roll singer, Conrad Birdie, who is about to be inducted into the army. When Birdie’s agent Albert Peterson and Albert’s secretary and would be love interest, Rosie Alvarez, concocts a publicity plan for Conrad to give one lucky girl one last kiss before he’s off to the army, Kim McAfee of Sweet Apple, Ohio is chosen. This exuberant rock ‘n’ roll smash hit features such songs as Put on a Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot of Livin’ to Do and Telephone Hour. Bye Bye Birdie consist of an all youth cast from 20 different schools in Marin and San Francisco - 4th -12th grade with an orchestra of young musicians, 14 to 20 years old, from all over Southern Marin and San Francisco.
