The Cup's first Austin shows back in 2005 were at the beloved and intimate Church of the Friendly Ghost where the band and the audience intermingled and played together while the Cup wooed them musically and intellectually with themes such as "Song of the Day" where each individual audience member was treated to a one-on-one therapy session with the band where after discussing their feelings with the guys they were treated to a song picked out just for them. They will be picking up where the creativity and performance left off, at the Mohawk.
"Buttercup's Captains of Industry (the first of 3 EPs slated for 2007) is full up with sweet little summer songs - the sort of thing you might sip on to escape the hill country heat. Bits of 1960s folk pop swirl around filled out with a splash of indie rock and crunchy guitar lines."- the austinist
