Connecticut artist, Ronald Meyers will display his works in the downtown Burroughs and Saden Library’s 2nd floor Fine Arts Room throughout the months of January and February. The Bridgeport native, who now resides in Waterbury holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Art from Southern Connecticut State University. Meyers explains that the art on display evolved over the years.
In describing his work the artist states, “Each picture stands alone and is a reflection of life. I don’t have a specific theme but I try to capture the spirit of life. In addition, I try to have my art display Afro-centric based meaning. In this way it offers a strong positive representation of the Black community. Showing the everyday cultural aspects that deserve celebration – love, unity, music and the strength of our family is important.”
Meyers work has been exhibited throughout the state and seen in Hartford’s Trinity College, Capitol Community College, The Pump House Gallery, The Artist Collective as well as private collections.
