When you?re getting ready to head back to school this September, don?t forget your supplies- pasties, glitter, a sense of humor and a whole lot of attitude! Throw away your spiral notebooks (unless they?re a prop, that is!), because this is no normal school- welcome to Red Hots Burlesque School of Shimmy, the only school where you can get your Phd in Take It Off-ology! Have you been dreaming of hitting the stage as a burly-q superstar? Wanna put together a private number for your sweetie? You can learn moves, get behind-the-scenes tips, gain confidence and have tons of fun with Red Hots Dottie Lux, Peekaboo Pointe & Scooter Pie in their three-part workshop series at Rififi (11th St. between 1st & 2nd aves), home of their weekly revue.

This introductory class is open to all women who want to learn how to shake it, whether onstage or at home! Dottie Lux, Peekaboo Pointe & Scooter Pie will teach you the history of burlesque, how to create a persona and characters, how to make the most of your beautiful self for an audience, how to use props, costumes & makeup, and basic choreography. Wear comfortable clothes- you can bring any costumes or props of your own, but we?ll supply lots for you to try out! $30 ticket price includes admission to the Red Hots Burlesque show at 10pm & a free raffle ticket!
