MISSING IN ACTION: The Bulldogs are as close to full strength as any side heading into the finals. Des Hasler has all of his big guns available, while back-rower Dene Halatau (knee) has been named on a six-man bench after missing the last seven games with a medial ligament injury.
Manly are also close to having their full complement of players available. There is a slight cloud over duo Anthony Watmough (thumb) and co-captain Jason King (shoulder), however both are expected to play.

FORM: The Bulldogs wrapped up the minor premiership with a 42-10 demolition of the Roosters on Saturday night. It was an emphatic response to the shock 34-6 loss to Canberra which snapped Canterbury’s 12-match winning streak in Round 25.
Manly have timed their run perfectly and fully deserve their premiership favouritism heading into the finals. After battling a heavy injury toll and the odd suspension for most of the season, Geoff Toovey’s men have won their past six straight and enter the playoffs with massive momentum.

FOR BULLDOGS TO WIN: Handle the occasion. Some of the Bulldogs players have played in finals, Origins and Test matches, but most are rookies on the big stage – including Dally M medallist Ben Barba. Coach Des Hasler will no doubt be a calming influence, but the way in which the likes of Barba, five-eighth Adam Reynolds and prop of the year Sam Kasiano handle finals footy will go a long way to deciding the outcome on Friday night.

FOR SEA EAGLES TO WIN: Stop Ben Barba and win the battle of the big boppers. The Dally M medallist scored three tries in the two regular-season meetings between the sides. One was a runaway 60m effort in Round 8 while the other two were from kicks in the Round 20 win at Brookvale Oval. It’s not possible to shut down the lethal full-back completely, but Manly must limit his impact in order to win. Despite losing Kasiano early in the clash at Brookie, the Dogs won the battle up front. That needs to change if the Sea Eagles hope to prevail this time around.
