Issue campaigns are exercises in storytelling. Like any good book, they need a narrative that resonates with the audience; a simple theme that encapsulates all the action; sympathetic characters trying to do the right thing; and a bad guy who needs to be kept in check. This training will spotlight campaign techniques and tactics that work, including how to maintain message consistency across a broad coalition, maximizing media coverage, identifying universal themes, and defining the opposition. Participants will think through how to combine various tactics and communications strategies to run a successful issue campaign that gets results.
