Building a LovingSG May 29, 2012

1. This year, Singaporeans are invited to express their love for our nation and
fellow countrymen in a practical way – by giving to charity through the “Building A
LovingSG” project. Close to 200,000 LEGO® bricks and LEGO® minifigures will be used
to create a 12 by 9 metre scale model of the National Day Parade (NDP) celebrations
at The Float @ Marina Bay.

2. The charity project will involve over 500 volunteers from Nanyang Polytechnic
(NYP), *SCAPE, Pathlight School and Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA).

3. From 30 May onwards, Singaporeans can participate and be represented at
the National Day LEGO® Parade by making a S$5 donation online at
http://ndp.org.sg/participation/building-a-loving-sg. Online payment can also be
made through the NDPeeps Facebook page (http://facebook.com/ndpeep) or by
scanning the mobile Paypal QR code on the “Building A LovingSG” bus stop ads.
Alternatively, members of the public can head down to roadshows held at different
shopping malls around the island to make a donation on the spot via EZ-Link payment.
The roadshows will be held at the following locations from 9am to 9pm daily and run
concurrently from 16 to 24 Jun:

a. Funan DigitaLife Mall, Level 1
b. Tampines Mall, Level 4 TV Room (next to the Open Plaza)
c. Bugis Junction, Atrium (opposite InterContinental Singapore)
d. JCube, Level 5 Open Plaza

4. On making a donation, the public will receive a pair of customisable LEGO®
minifigures. One of the LEGO® minifigures will be placed on the seating gallery of the
replica floating platform, while the other is for their keepsake as a reminder of their
participation. About 25,000 LEGO® minifigures have been created for this purpose.
Invitations for corporate donations of S$5,000, S$10,000 and S$15,000 will also be
extended to organisations, which will then be given the opportunity to place their
own marching contingents in the National Day LEGO® Parade. All donations received
for the charity project will go to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund. The
completed structure will then be displayed at the travelling National Day roadshows
from 7 Jul to 12 Aug 2012. All participants in the project will receive e-tokens, which
can be accumulated and exchanged for souvenirs at www.imobble.com/ndp2012.
