Mayor Mantis and Lucille Bugg welcome visitors of all ages for this FREE, one-day event filled with cool buggy activities, information, and demonstrations. Guests will stroll the streets of Bug City where they can get up close and personal with bugs of all kinds from all over the world!
There will be many exciting opportunities to learn about “buggy” jobs and why they are important. Exhibitors from all over will be bringing their bug collections to share with all. Lake Erie Science and Nature Center will even have live insect predators for everyone to enjoy.
Bug City Chef Gene White will be demonstrating some bug cooking recipes and there will be a chance to enjoy a buggy snack or two at this year’s 22nd Annual Bug City! Beekeepers and butterfly enthusiasts will be on hand to give more information about these wonderful insects. Bug-themed activities for the kids as well as entertainment for all ages are also a part of the Bug City event. Get up close and personal with our local bugs at the Bug Hunt and the Mealworm 500.
Purchase this year’s Bug City pin at the Pin Place. And you might just “bee” Bug City’s 100,000th guest to visit Bug City over the years!
