Bûche de Noël—or yule log—is a traditional dessert served during the Christmas season in France, Belgium, and Quebec. As the name indicates, the cake is prepared, presented, and garnished to look like a log ready for the fire. To construct your own bûche, you’ll learn to make a biscuit roulé (jelly roll cake), ganache, meringue mushrooms, and marzipan holly.
