Bryin Dall has been in many musical projects over the years, including 4th Sign of the Apocalypse, Dream Into Dust, A Murder Of Angels, and Loretta’s Doll, but he’s been best known so far as a key member of Thee Majesty with Genesis P-Orridge of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV. This is beginning to change as his eponymous project gets more exposure.
What began as a one-off cover of “May You Never Be Alone Like Me” expanded into a country music covers project, but the songs of Hank Williams resonated the strongest. Derek Rush (Dream Into Dust), drafted in to play acoustic guitar, translated the music into minor keys to reflect the darkness of the words, while Dall added what he calls “a sort-of Jesus and Mary Chain-type feedback”. The project's Myspace Page has grown in popularity since its creation mere months ago, due mostly to Dall's deep, ragged, heartfelt vocals and the pair's commitment to matching the spirit of the original lyrics with the starkest music they can muster.
