Bruce Saunders has been working in the New York jazz community since 1987. A native of Florida, Bruce earned his masters degree in jazz performance from North Texas State University and soon after, moved to New York city. While at North Texas on scholarship, Bruce received additional scholarships from the Dallas Jazz Society and played in the One O'clock Lab Band, with whom he made three recordings. In addition to his playing career in New York, he has been active in the teaching community as well. Since 1989 Bruce has been on the faculty of the Berklee School of Music (Boston) where he leads classes in improvisation, jazz harmony, ensembles and teaches private guitar lessons.
