Brown Bag Lunch: "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance" (1962) November 10, 2008

Two-fisted westerner John Wayne and terderfoot newcomer James Stewart clash over a woman (Vera Miles) but ultimately unite against the notorious outlaw Liberty Valance (Lee Marvin). In their first teaming, Wayne and Stewart are good together, with Wayne the embodiment of rugged individualism and Steward the idealist prophet of the civilization that will enentually tame the Wild West. Director John Ford's last great (some say greatest) western.
