Brown Bag Lunch Classic Film: "Meet Me in St. Louis" March 9, 2009

One of the finest American musicals, this 1945 film by Vincente Minnelli is an intentionally self-contained story set in 1903. Judy Garland stars as Esther Smith, who has just fallen in love with a boy who has just moved in. The family is shocked when Mr. Smith reveals that he has been transferred to a nice position in New York, which means that the family has to leave St. Louis and the St. Louis Fair. Features many turn-of-the-century songs, plus "The Trolley Song".
