Inspired by golden era legends like KRS-One and Rakim, Minneapolis-based hip-hop artist Brother Ali began rapping as a means of survival. Ali has shared stages with the likes of Atmosphere, Brand Nubian, Rakim, MF Doom and Murs throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. His newest album, the ambitious 'Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color,' was inspired by his first trip to Mecca, as well as the unrest in the Middle East and the worldwide Occupy movements.
