The final concert of the 36th season of the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra will feature the full-length vocal work Das Lied von der Erde by Gustav Mahler, at the orchestra's home at the Church of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity on Sunday, May 31st at 3 p.m.
"Mahler's vocal and orchestral masterpiece, Das Lied von der Erde, or Songs of the Earth, is a thrilling evening-length work and we are proud to present internationally known mezzo-soprano Stephanie Houtzeel and tenor Matthew Garrett." said Nicholas Armstrong, Artistic Director. "This piece is the perfect integration of orchestral sound and voice, a sublime experience for both audience and performers."
Admission to the concert is free with a suggested contribution of $15. The Church of St. Ann and the Holy Trinity is located at the corner of Clinton and Montague Streets in Brooklyn Heights, next to the Court Street subway station.
