The arts initiative organization Untamed Talent is launching a monthly spoken word open mic at Caribbean Soul Restaurant on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 7:00pm, entitled Broadway comes to Brooklyn!
Pending Review. T

The show is the brainchild of J. Steven Williams (aka Tha Real), the founder of Untamed Talent. With a background in theater, Tha Real envisions an open mic for actors, rather than poets. "Broadway Comes to Brooklyn" will be a conduit for actors and actresses to perform monologues and practice their pieces that are still works-in-progress. The open mic is open to everyone; lack of experience should not be a deterrent. Tha Real’s show ends with an improvement session, where the audience becomes its Directors, providing constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement to each artist. This event will take place every second Tuesday after the initial launch at Caribbean Soul Restaurant.

“...there's just something about not being "home trained" that makes poetry sound so RAW and UNCUT”
