Bring One For The Chipper 2011 - Christmas Tree Recycling Day for Dalton-Whitfield January 8, 2011

Bring One For The Chipper 2011 a community Christmas Tree Recycling Event will take place Saturday, January 8, 2011 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at The Home Depot parking lot (875 Shugart Road, Dalton, GA). The event is free!

Residents are invited to drop off their live, undecorated Christmas Tree for recycling in exchange for a tree seedling or seeds at The Home Depot parking lot. Special guests will include the Chipper Mascot and mascot Recycling Ben.

This year’s event marks 20 years of “treecycling” in Georgia, and 10 years of “treecycling” in Dalton-Whitfield. Since the beginning of the program over 5 million trees have recycled into mulched or used for fish and wildlife habitats throughout the state.

If you are unable to participate the day of the event, keep in mind that the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority's four Convenience Centers accept yard waste and tree trimmings year round for mulching.
