Help Bright Endeavors, a non-profit social enterprise of New Moms, Inc., change the lives of their motivated, young women this holiday season. On Saturday, December 4, 2010, Bright Endeavors is hosting a holiday open house sales event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., located at 4222 N. Ravenswood.
Bright Endeavors is committed to helping homeless and at-risk young women become self-sufficient, successful adults. This holiday season, Bright Endeavors is presenting plenty of perfect gifts your loved ones will enjoy including lemon balsam soy candles and orange clove soy candles. They also offer soothing bath collections such as the Dreambean Market, which include aromatic candles, bath tea and Dead Sea salts. All proceeds from the sale of Dreambean Candles go to support training, mentoring and permanent job placement for the young women that lovingly create and package each product. Bright Endeavors is a social enterprise and critical training component of New Moms' professional development services, providing on-the-job training, mentoring and transitional support services for young mothers enrolled in the comprehensive programming of New Moms. Founded in 1983 on the northwest side of Chicago, New Moms is a non-profit organization with a mission and purpose to: enable, empower, and equip homeless and near-homeless teenage mothers and their children. New Moms annually serves more than 300 teenage parents and children.
New Moms programs include: individualized case management and mentoring; advocacy for mainstream resources; and crisis intervention, transitional shelter for teen moms (18-21) and their children, parent support groups, intensive home-based parent education and developmental screening for children.
