Brian Knep (American, b. 1968) is a Boston-based new-media artist who uses science and technology to create works about the human condition, focusing in particular on the interconnected and impermanent nature of our world. His artworks are interactive - responding to changes in the environment and sensing and reacting to the people around them. In public settings, Knep's projects bring people, even strangers, into face-to-face contact with one another. This exhibition presents several viewer-activated video installations from Knep's 'Exempla,' featuring little creatures with exaggerated heads and skeletal legs based on children's drawings that the artist describes as "caricatures of the endlessly cycling everyman."
