Mike Coykendall-If Syd Barrett and Woodie Gutherie threw a sack over John Lennon's head and dragged him up into the attic to bend him to their musical will what they'd get would be something close to the understated brilliance of the songs of Mike Coykendall. He’s gotten ...some well earned recognition for his work as a producer/sideman with MWard, She and Him, Conor Oberst and others but his own stuff hasn’t received nearly the attention it deserves.

Carlos Forster-Here's one of the comments on his excellent Campfire Songs video posted on you tube that kind of sums it up: "I got this new album just because i'm a big fan of M. Ward and found out about this wonderful singer: Carlos Forster. How come he is not so famous?:" Good damn question! His new record Family Trees has all the infectious eerieness of a folky Brian Wilson with lines that just kill me like "I'm gonna be a cheap guitar and never fall apart."
