Brendan Perry spent 16 years searching the world for meaning and knowledge through music in partnership with Lisa Gerrard in Dead Can Dance. They released a total of nine albums including a live concert video album to considerable public and critical acclaim. Then Perry turned his attention to a solo career which would continue this exploration. Perry's solo work boasts lush production sensibilities and a boundary-defying spirit. In 2010, Perry released his second solo album, "Ark". For this album, Perry played every instrument, wrote all the lyrics and acted as the sole creative force across all tracks. "Ark" is more reminiscent of the music Brendan has written for Dead Can Dance than his previous solo work and contains two tracks that were originally composed for the Dead Can Dance reunion tour of 2005.
The chief sound architect of Cocteau Twins and Violet Indiana, Robin Guthrie, and his reverb-drenched guitar textures have had a significant impact on alternative music since the early '80s. Guthrie has been a massive influence on everyone from My Bloody Valentine through to Antony and the Johnsons and M83. He is also known for his production work for Ian McCulloch, Edwyn Collins, and Felt, as well as defining the early '90s shoegazing scene with his productions for the likes of Lush and Chapterhouse. In recent years he's worked with School Of Seven Bells, John Foxx, Ulrich Schnauss, and Apollo Heights. Guthrie is also developing an impressive reputation as a composer of film soundtracks. Robin Guthrie's latest release, "Bordeaux", is a collaboration with Harold Budd.
